Parents get your groove on with your kids with easy tie and dye crafts. Have the kids wear an apron over old clothes and a pair of rubber gloves.
Tie-Dye Basics: Step 1
Design by knotting firmly with rubber bands or throng tightly around a white T-shirt …preferably 100 percent cotton. (That’s how we got the heart shape on the previous slide.)
Mix fabric dye according to fabric involved in stainless-steel containers or bowl. (plastic will get stained). Add a cup of salt to the dye bath to enhance the color.
Tie-Dye Basics: Step 2
Destarch fabric by Immersing T-shirt in cool water first, wring out the excess water, and then soak in dye bath. Stir frequently with a long-handled enamel or stainless-steel spoon. Dyeing takes 15 to 30 minutes, depending on how deep a color you want. (If you’re using two or more colors, dip and hold each section in dye.)
Tie-Dye Basics: Step 3
Remove T-shirt with tongs or a big stick. Rinse under warm, then gradually cooler water until it runs clear.
Hope you love the result?
Bull’s-Eye: Step 1
Lay fabric flat. Pinch center of the garment and tie firmly with rubber band both layers, about 1 to 2 inches from center. Space rubber bands 1 inch apart.
Immerse in dye bath and your baby will slay in simple and classy bull’s eye design.
Hope you had a jolly fun time with your kids this weekend?
